How to Enable Dark Theme in Windows 10

The anniversary update of Windows 10 came with a fun new theme for users.[1] The much requested dark theme is now an option for anyone bored by the old light color scheme. This article will guide you if you want to switch to the new and fresh dark theme in Windows 10.

  • Before you start: This article will be helpful only if you have already upgraded to the anniversary edition of Windows 10. Learn how to do it here.

EditSteps

  1. Open the search bar. In the taskbar, open the search pane saying 'Ask me anything' to open the search bar. In some devices, the search bar is replaced by the circular icon on the taskbar. Clicking it will open the search pane for you.

  2. Search for in the search bar. After the search finishes, choose from the search result. Choose the one which has 'Trusted Windows Store app' written below it.

  3. Open the tab from the settings menu. If you can't find the tab there, type the keyword in the search bar of the same window.

  4. Select from the navigation pane. Under personalization, find the sub-setting in the navigation pane located at the left side of the window.

  5. Change the app mode. Scroll down under the sub-setting to find a section called . This is where the magic happens, select from the list to change the look of your Windows. Enjoy the beauty of black!
