Mangoes are delicious to eat but who wants to wrestle with that giant pit and tough skin? Peeling a mango can not only be messy, but highly time consuming if you want to get as much flesh as possible. Skip the sticky mess and opt for a better way to peel your mango.
Steps
- Choose the ripe fresh mangoes.
- Cut mango in half. This will probably be the most effort you’ll need to exert during this exercise.
- If you have trouble getting through the tough pit, cut mango into thirds.
- Hold the mango half in your palm.
- In the other hand, grab the glass and slide the glass rim underneath skin, between the mango skin and flesh.
- Push the glass through the mango, running the glass rim along the skin in order to remove as much mango flesh as possible.
- Cut mango into slices or just eat whole.
Things You’ll Need
- Mango
- Sharp knife
- Cutting board
- Glass
Tips
- Consider using a plastic cup with a strong/sharp mouth for cutting through mango (to avoid having the glass slip from your hands and break).
- Use kitchen gloves to give you a better grip on the mango and glass.
